Don Pridemore Pledges to Support Congressional Term Limits

Milwaukee, WI – U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the leader in the national, non-partisan movement to limit terms for elected officials, is gathering support from state lawmakers across the nation. Its mission is to get 34 states to apply for an amendment proposal convention specific to term limits on Congress. Wisconsin state senate candidate, Don Pridemore (district 13), has committed support for term limits on Congress by signing the U.S. Term Limits pledge. The special primary election is scheduled for February 16, 2021.

USTL President, Philip Blumel, commented on Pridemore’s pledge saying, “Don’s support of term limits shows that there are individuals who are willing to listen to the majority of voters who want term limits. America needs a Congress that will be served by citizen legislators, not career politicians.”

The U.S. Term Limits pledge is provided to candidates and members of state legislatures. It reads, “I pledge that, as a member of the state legislature, I will cosponsor, vote for, and defend the resolution applying for an Article V convention for the limited purpose of enacting term limits on Congress.”

In the 1995 case, Thornton v. U.S. Term Limits, the Supreme Court of the United States opined that only a Constitutional Amendment could limit the terms of U.S. Senators and House Representatives. According to Nick Tomboulides, Executive Director of USTL, the best chance of imposing term limits on Congress is through an Article V Proposal Convention of state legislatures.

“The Constitution allows for amendments to be proposed by either 2/3 of Congress or 2/3 of the states. While we’d like for Congress to take the high road and propose term limits on itself, our goal is to trigger the latter, a national convention specifically for a term limits amendment,” claims Tomboulides. “That is why it is important to get buy-in from state legislators,” he added. Once proposed, the amendment must be ratified by 38 states.

Blumel noted, “More than 79% of Americans have rejected the career politician model and want to replace it with citizen leadership. The way to achieve that goal is through a congressional term limits amendment. Don knows this and is willing to work to make sure we reach our goal.”

According to the last nationwide poll on term limits conducted by McLaughlin & Associates, term limits enjoys wide bipartisan support. McLaughlin’s analysis states, “Support for term limits is broad and strong across all political, geographic and demographic groups. An overwhelming 79% of voters approve of a Constitutional Amendment that will place term limits on members of Congress.”

Watertown, WI – Don Pridemore fully supports State Senator Steve Nass offering a joint resolution that would immediately end the new COVID-19 emergency declaration issued by Gov. Tony Evers and any orders issued from it. Wisconsin law allows the duly elected members of the Legislature, by joint resolution, to end any emergency declaration.

Pridemore, Republican candidate for the 13th State Senate District in the special election Feb. 16, said "Governor Evers has overstepped his authority again and again on COVID-19 orders and mandates that violates Wisconsinites' civil liberties. It's long overdue for the Legislature to stop Evers' reign of tyranny, and let people decide for themselves how they want to deal with COVID-19."

"During my 10 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, during both Gov. Doyle and Gov. Walker's administrations, I never saw a governor violate the constitutional rights of citizens like Gov. Evers has. This has to end, and I call on all members of the State Assembly and State
Senate to support this joint resolution," Pridemore added.

Don Pridemore is the True Conservative running for the 13th Senate District covering the western parts of Washington County, Dodge County, Jefferson and parts of Columbia and Dane Counties. He is a Pro-Life, Pro 2nd Amendment, Pro-America Fiscal Conservative with a track record of fighting for conservative causes. Please help elect Don Pridemore on February 16th.

13th State Senate Candidate Don Pridemore Files Nomination Papers

Date: January 7, 2021, 3 pmCandidate Don Pridemore turns in Nomination Papers

Place: Wisconsin Election Commission, Madison

Press for Immediate Release

13th State Senate candidate, Don Pridemore registers his nomination signatures containing 668 signatures. Those signatures come from almost every municipality in the district.

Many thanks to all those, too numerous to mention, who helped with the effort. Every form submitted was important whether it had 1 or 10 signatures. I am always impressed by all those who came forward, some of whom I have never met and weren't even asked to participate. They volunteered because they believed we needed a solid conservative to take the place of former State Senator Scott Fitzgerald. One that will stand up for principle, our freedoms, and our Constitution rather than be just another go-along-to-get-along legislator. One that will consider God, Country, and family values ahead of partisan politics. In other words, his Constituents

Watertown, WI – Back in 2017, my wife and I supported what we thought was a conservative candidate for justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. We were fooled and we are not ashamed to admit it. I worked very hard on his campaign and my wife, Tina worked tirelessly to schedule events that would place this “Constitutional Structuralist” in front of both conservative and non-partisan audiences.  We should have realized that when Tina’s volunteer efforts were abruptly terminated without so much as a thank you that something was wrong. We were used! Anyone with conservative values can see they have been lied to. It is crystal clear that Justice Brian Hagedorn has misrepresented himself to get elected to the Wisconsin Court. This goes beyond being a never-Trumper, this is a case of not adhering to the rule of law. Election laws were broken and illegal votes were cast and counted. Justice was not served in Wisconsin.

This elephant is not going to forget. Whether we have to wait another 8 years or support a recall, Tina and I will be praying Hagedorn comes to his senses. My heart goes out to his family, the people of Wisconsin and all the public figures that put their trust in Justice Hagedorn. We all counted on him to do the right thing, to be a model of integrity, use common sense and provide justice for all. But, he let us down!

President Trump Signs New Executive Order

President Trump on Monday signed an executive order to launch “The 1776 Commission” that will “restore patriotic education” in U.S. schools. “Just signed an order to establish the 1776 Commission. We will stop the radical indoctrination of our students and restore PATRIOTIC EDUCATION to our schools!” Trump tweeted.

The order will initiate the creation of a 20-person commission overseen by the Department of Education that will “work to improve understanding of the history and the principles of the founding of the United States among our Nation’s rising generations,” the White House said in a Monday press release.
“In recent years, a series of polemics grounded in poor scholarship has vilified our Founders and our founding. Despite the virtues and accomplishments of this Nation, many students are now taught in school to hate their own country, and to believe that the men and women who built it were not heroes, but rather villains,” the order reads.
“This radicalized view of American history lacks perspective, obscures virtues, twists motives, ignores or distorts facts, and magnifies flaws, resulting in the truth being concealed and history disfigured,” it states. “Failing to identify, challenge, and correct this distorted perspective could fray and ultimately erase the bonds that knit our country and culture together.”
“Within a year, the Commission will produce a report regarding the core principles of America’s founding and how these principles may be understood to further the blessings of liberty and promote our continuing efforts to form a more perfect Union,” the White House said Monday.
The commission will establish the “Presidential 1776 Award” to recognize students with “knowledge of the American founding” and will also promote patriotic education “at Federal sites – including National Parks and Monuments.”
The White House said Trump is also working to make sure schools that receive federal funding “observe and celebrate Constitution Day.”
